BookMoment Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 10, 2026

App: BookMoment

Developer/Operator: Moonworks

Privacy contact: icecrao2@icloud.com

This Privacy Policy explains how BookMoment (the “App”) handles data for reading records, notes, photo notes, book search, notifications, and sync features. The App is designed to work without an in-app account and to keep the user’s reading library local-first.

1. Data We Process

The App may store the following data on your device or in your personal iCloud storage:

If you type names, contact details, sensitive information, or other personal information into free-form notes, reviews, or photo annotations, that content becomes part of your App data. The App does not require you to enter that information.

2. How We Use Data

The App uses data only to:

The App does not use your reading records or notes for targeted advertising, data broker sales, or cross-app tracking.

3. Storage and Sync

The App’s primary data source is a BookReportLibrary file folder. On iOS or macOS, if an iCloud container is available, Documents/BookReportLibrary may be used as an iCloud Drive-synced folder. If iCloud is not available, the App falls back to the local Documents folder.

In supported builds or settings, some reading library data and photo attachments may sync through a private iCloud/CloudKit store tied to your Apple iCloud account. In that case, Apple processes the data as part of providing iCloud services. The operator does not run a separate user-account server as the primary store for your reading library.

4. External Services and Third-Party Processing

The following services may process data to provide App features:

When you perform an online book search, the search term, ISBN, or barcode and normal connection metadata such as IP address and request headers may be sent to the search provider. The App is not designed to send your notes, reviews, or original photo files to book-search providers.

5. Permissions

You can change permissions in your operating system settings. Turning off a permission may limit the related feature.

6. Sharing and Export

When you create a share image, PDF, or system share-sheet export, the selected content is sent to the app or service you choose. After that transfer, the receiving app or service’s privacy practices apply.

7. Retention and Deletion

Reading library data is kept until you delete it, delete the App data, or remove the relevant local files or iCloud Drive BookReportLibrary folder. Recent searches can be deleted individually or cleared in the App. Deleting the App removes local app data according to the operating system’s rules, but iCloud Drive or iCloud backup copies may need to be managed separately in iCloud settings or the Files app.

Firebase Analytics and Messaging data is handled under Google/Firebase retention policies. Data handled by store review, iCloud, or push notification infrastructure follows the relevant platform’s policies.

8. Security

The App keeps the primary reading library in your device storage or personal iCloud storage where possible. OCR is performed on device on supported platforms. For online search, Firebase, and iCloud features that require network transfer, the App relies on the HTTPS and authentication systems provided by the relevant platform or provider.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App does not provide child-directed account creation, profile creation, or behavioral advertising features. If a parent or guardian allows a child to use the App, the parent or guardian should manage the reading records and note content entered on that device.

10. Your Choices and Rights

You can access, correct, and delete data through App editing/deletion features, device app-data controls, the Files app, or iCloud settings. For privacy questions or requests to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of data, contact icecrao2@icloud.com.

11. Changes

This document may be updated when App features, external services, or legal requirements change. Important changes may be announced in the App or through the distribution channel.
